In 1981, Dr. Jinnan WANG entered the Department of Environmental Engineering of Tsinghua University and received his bachelor's, master's and doctoral degrees; in 1998, he was selected as the first level of the "Hundred Million Talents Project"; from 1999 to 2002, he served as the head of the Institute of Environmental Planning of the Chinese Academy of Environmental Sciences; from 2002 to 2003, he served as the Director of the Engineering Project Consulting Department of the Academy of Environmental Planning of the State Environmental Protection Administration. From 2002 to 2003, he was the director of the Engineering Project Consulting Department of the Environmental Planning Institute of the State Environmental Protection Administration; in 2008, he was the expert of the general group and the leader of the subject group of the overall expert group of the major science and technology special project "Water Pollution Control and Management"; in 2017, he was elected as an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering.
He is mainly engaged in environmental planning, environmental economics, and environmental policy research. As of June 2019, he has held more than 20 positions in academic institutions, including expert of the overall group of six special projects including National Air Pollution Causes and Control, and President of the Global Association of China Environmental Experts (PACE).
